At Montiro, we are committed to achieving the highest degree of precision with regard to the weights we publish for our tents. However, as is the case with all manufacturers in the industry, you may detect a marginal deviation in the actual weight of your tent, falling either slightly above or below the advertised specifications.
Such discrepancies are prevalent across the tent market, stemming from the intrinsic nature of tent manufacturing. In the production pipeline, natural variations in fabric compositions and coating procedures are inevitable. These nuances give rise to subtle differences in weight.
Trail Weight represents the combined weights of the tent body, rainfly, and tent poles. Total Weight, meanwhile, indicates the overall weight of the product as it comes in its ready-to-purchase package. Specifically, Total Weight incorporates the combined weights of the tent body, rainfly, tent poles, stakes, guylines, tent bag, pole bag, and stake bag. The clear differentiation between Trail Weight and Total Weight gives a thorough breakdown of the components that account for the tent's total mass, enabling more informed purchasing choices.
For a Montiro tent, the term "waterproof" implies that all of its exterior fabrics are treated with high-quality polyurethane coatings. The "mm" stands for millimeters, which, in accordance with industry standards, is coupled with a numerical value to denote a standardized gauge of a coating's waterproof capabilities. Take, for example, a tent with a 2000mm coating. This means it can endure the pressure exerted by a 2000mm (equivalent to 5 feet) column of water for over one minute without a single drop seeping through the fabric.
A footprint is included as a gift for Triphyr 2. Please note that the F-Nexus, which is an add-on to the tent, does not come with a footprint.
F-Nexus is only compatible with Montiro Triphyr 2
Using footprint underneath the tent is recommended since it offers several benefits:
Enhanced Durability: The ground can be rough, littered with sharp rocks, twigs, or abrasive gravel. A footprint acts as a protective barrier between the tent floor and the ground. By taking the brunt of this abrasion, it significantly reduces wear and tear on the tent floor, ultimately prolonging the lifespan of the tent.
Improved Waterproofing: The footprint adds an extra layer of waterproofing, minimizing the chances of moisture getting into the tent from below.
Easier Cleanup: Camping can be messy, and the ground might be muddy, sandy, or covered in debris. When it's time to pack up, you can simply shake out, brush off, or hose down the footprint instead of having to meticulously clean the tent floor. This makes the post-camping cleanup process much quicker and more convenient.
Insulation: In colder weather, the footprint provides an additional insulating layer. It helps to keep the cold from the ground from seeping into the tent, making the interior space a bit warmer and more comfortable.
Initiate tent cleaning solely when detecting a malodorous scent or observing pronounced soiling. Excessive or ill-timed cleaning can undermine the tent's long-term integrity.
Removing Loose Dirt: For minor dirt accumulation, a garden hose is the optimal choice. Its pressure efficiently removes common loose particulates accrued during outdoor activities.
Deep Cleaning: In cases of severe soiling, assemble the tent upright. Clean with warm water, a soft, absorbent sponge, and a non-detergent soap specifically designed for outdoor textiles. Avoid any harsh chemicals, as they can damage the tent fabric.
Rinsing: Execute a thorough rinse, ensuring the complete elimination of soap remnants. Lingering soap residues can gradually impair the tent's waterproof capabilities.
Drying: Opt for natural drying, either by setting up the tent in a well-ventilated area or via line-drying. Avoid dry cleaning, machine washing, or machine drying, as these processes can ablate the tent's waterproof coatings.
Tents should be completely dry before being stored in the carrying bag. Otherwise, the mildew formation process may start, which can damage the waterproof coatings. We highly recommend ensuring your tent is thoroughly dried prior to storage. When it comes to storing the tent for a long-term, keep it in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. Please note that damage caused by mildew and moisture is not covered under the Limited Warranty.
Please contact our customer support team. We will work promptly to offer you a satisfactory solution.
At Montiro, all our tents come with a 1-year Montiro Limited Warranty.
